What's the deal with these we "Buy Your House" companies?

As the Real Estate Market heats up it seems there are more companies willing to buy your home? We have all seen the Social Media posts, TV ads, or Radio advertisements about selling your home fast with No FEES!

Is this a good idea? Well it depends. Real Estate in most cases is an individuals most valuable asset, but the only way to get access to cash from this asset is to sell the Real Estate. Home values are increasing in most markets across the country. If you own a home it's very easy to get top dollar in your area.


Homes are purchased not just by home buyers and families, but by investors. These investors may be Real Estate agents, companies, or individuals looking to buy Real Estate.

A traditional home sale is done usually by a Real Estate agent. A home seller lists their home for sale through a Real Estate agent and this agent markets this home for sale to potential home buyers. A seller in most areas of the country will pay a Real Estate commission from 4.5-7%. They may also have to pay closing costs, home repairs, and most closings take 30-45 days. This type of sale usually results in the most money to a home seller, if your home is in above average condition and in not of need of repair to be is in a desirable area, and you have clear title to the home.

Another way to sell your home is to an investor directly. The advantages of selling your home to an investor is a quick sale, typically less fees, and you can sell your home As Is in most cases. The downside is the investor is not going to pay Retail Market Price for your home. Especially if there are repairs needed, title issues, or in danger of foreclosure. If the home you own is in badly need of repair, behind on taxes or you just need cash quick, selling your home to an investor is a great alternative.
